Yeah definitely agree more education on nature for kids and adults ..and start young a lot of these woodland programmes have started though there is not enough of them x
I haven't heard of much here. I know woodland trust does some stuff though. So much could be done. Reckon it needs to be seen as an adventure for them not taughts as in a classroom. I shall keep my eyes open on the larger places here, see what's occurring. X
Yeah there's some schools.now bring into their curriculum...lessons out in woods for kids also there's some private woodland nursery school as well all.be it privately funded xx
I'm totally with you, Elaine. We - and perhaps especially kids- need to be in nature. And as for the βsolutionsβ here - closing off access to woodland is bad enough but as for cutting down the treesβ¦π€¬
Definitely school/kids/nature. My school down the road started putting play tables outside for the kindergarten class to gather. Even that much nature pleased me for them.
My son, who lives in busy noisy London, takes his family for farm visits regularly.
There are big school buses that sit waiting all day for class dismissal that could be taking children on nature visits. Children and nature go together like children and water. Passing on the awe and surprise in nature to our children, is a covenant we have with our earth and sky. The birds and plants love the sound of our voices. We sound like music. If you slow classical music down it sounds like bird song. If you speed up
the sound of bird calls it sounds like classical music. There is no separation between us and Mother Nature. We are a tapestry.
That's great, it's a start with the school. The little ones can learn so much through nature. We all go together - woven together through the web. Your son gets a big π Kids love farms don't they? It's inbuilt for us to love nature - our lifestyles and fears of safety push that away. Really love all your points especially about birds and music and our covenant. I can almost hear a giant symphony going on. Thanks for your insights, it's lovely to hear π
well πππ

Steps in the right direction. That's hopeful. xx
Yeah there is some progress though just not enough x
Definitely not enough! Should be on the curriculum everywhere, but parents need to be engaged too. Hark - I hear "I'm too busy"!

Definitely kids should be out there, just taught to be respectful. It breaks my heart when I see trees being felled willy billy. It's totally insane!
